How do I get there Driving / Flying?
You can drive (click
here for driving instructions) or fly. If you fly, you have
the choice of flying into Jackson Hole, WY (JAC) or Idaho Falls,
ID (IDA). Once you know your arrival flight, let us know so we
can help you with getting several travelers together to share
the cost of a shuttle bus or cab.
Do
I have to stay at Teton Mountain View Lodge?
No, there are other accommodations in Driggs, Idaho
(Best Western and a Super 8 down there).
I
travel by RV, can we dry camp or are there campgrounds nearby?
We have blocked out several RV spaces at the Teton
Mountain View Lodge.
Do
I need to rent a car?
Only if you want to be able to go down into town,
or if you're traveling with a non-beader who would then be able
to enjoy all the other activities available while you're in class.
Should
I bring task lighting?
Extra lighting is always welcome so bringing your
personal Ott Lite or task lighting is highly recommended. And
an extension cord if you are going to bead in your room. If you
do not have your own light, let us know in advance we can try
to make sure we can make enough lighting available.
Do
I need my beading tools?
Yes, your GLASSES or MAGNIFIERS, that you use at home!
We are working with small beads. Plus your basic supplies and
tools that you prefer, i.e., fireline, nymo, silamide, big eye
needles, scissors/snips, wax, bead heaven, PLUS basic jewelry
tools for the optional classes, round nose, chain nose, cutters
etc. Your preferred beading surface, if it's a mat or something
else. We will have some of that available for free to use and
more that can be purchased, but not nearly enough for everyone.
Do
I need to bring beads?
Only if you have another project you want to work
on while you're here, especially if you extend your stay for
the full week. Then again, there will be lots and lots of new
projects to pick-up while you're here!

Will
there be breaks?
You definately need to get up and stretch and move
around to stay flexible and alert! Snacks and beverages are provided.
Remember to move around when you need to!
Is
there a place to visit and bead after hours?
Of course! Either outdoors or indoors. The weather
in July is fabulous and it stays light until around 10 pm!
Will
there be shopping?
There will be additional kits and supplies and goodies
available. There is a cute bead store in town also.
Is
there food nearby?
Driggs is just 4 miles away with a full grocery store
and pharmacy. A list of restaurants will be provided upon arrival.
What
is the weather like in July?
Welcome to the Tetons! We are located at just about
6,000 feet above sea level. Temperatures range in the mid-70s
during the day with the temperature dropping in the evening due
to the altitude, so bring a sweater or jacket. Almost always
sunny and very, very dry. Plan on drinking LOTS of water and
bring your sun screen if you go out. You will burn much quicker
here than anywhere else, even if you're used to the sun!
Is
there time to sight see?
Yes, if you decide to forego the evening events, due
to the long days, if you have a car, you can go to Jackson Hole
for dinner (a little more than an hours drive) at one of their
famous restaurants. And if you opt for the two extra days there
is so much more to see. Click here for
more details about the location.
Are there other activities?
The answer is yes again, but your day will be very
busy so only after you're done with classes. But it's definately
worth the extra days stay to really enjoy the area.
Can
I bring my family, friends, kids?
This is the place to do that if they can keep themselves
occupied. We will be able to get babysitters, just let us know
in advance. There is so much to do here for the rest of your
family and friends that they will be as busy as you are in the
class and then you can all meet in the evening for dinner and
other activities. To take advantage of all they can do, a car
is highly recommended. |
